CCC students can access the Oregon Career Information System (CIS) for free. CIS has current information on jobs in demand in Oregon and how to get the education needed to succeed. CIS also has career assessments that will help you narrow your search. This system also links you to local and state labor market information. And again, its free!

My Next Move for Veterans is a site for veteran’s who served their country and now they are ready for a new challenge and a job at home. This website allows veterans to enter the name or code of their military classification at this website, and it will suggest civilian careers with similar skills. Veterans are able to use their transferable skills from military jobs to civilian jobs.
Career Pathways are a series of educational programs that enables individuals to gain employment advantages in a targeted occupation or industry. By completing a Career Pathways Certificate Program at Clatsop Community College, students increase their qualifications for work opportunities, and then may advance over time to successively higher levels of education and employment.
Career Pathways provides avenues for career advancement for current workers, reentry into the job force for displaced workers, and opportunities for new entrants into the labor market. It creates entry points into the labor force and promotes educational attainment related to local industry needs.
By targeting jobs of importance to the local economy, the Career Pathways Program also provides a supply of qualified workers for area employers.
The Oregon Employment Department helps job seekers find jobs that match their skills and employers’ needs, provides them with up-to-date information about trends in occupations and skills needed for success in the job market, and works with other agencies to direct them to appropriate training programs and job experiences.
Pacific NW Works’ Clatsop county office is located in the State building’s “One-Stop” Employment Eenter at 450 Marine Drive in Astoria. Pacific NW Works provides eligible individuals with computer training, résumé preparation, job search skills and many other employment related services and may be able to assist you with some funding for short-term training.
