The 2023 edition of Rain Magazine, Clatsop Community’s College’s annual literary and arts publication is here. The community is invited to celebrate the magazine’s 53rd edition with a free public reading and reception 5:00 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday, August 17, on the 3rd floor Towler Hall Commons of the college’s Lexington campus (1651 Lexington Ave.). Light refreshments will be served.
Many of the magazine’s contributors will be on hand to read excerpts, and original artwork will be displayed. This year’s focus is on the theme of Music. Copies of this limited edition publication will be available for a suggested $12 donation.
This year’s edition includes new writing from John Ciminello, James Dott, Janice Ebert, Steven Mayer, Reba Owen, Robert Michael Pyle, Florence Sage, and the return of former Oregon poet laureate, Kim Stafford. It also showcases new artwork by Kim Rose Adams, Brian Austin, Vicki Baker, local high-school student Izi Cook, and more.
