CCC Associated Student Government Announces New President and Vice President for 2024-2025

The Associated Student Government (ASG) of Clatsop Community College proudly announces the newly elected President and Vice President for the 2024-25 academic year. Voting for the top ASG leadership roles took place from September 30th through October 4th, through an online voting form open to all academically enrolled students. The newly elected officials are President Josie Kero and Vice President Emily Bates.

Both Josie and Emily are already hard at work in their respective roles, actively encouraging other students to apply for additional leadership positions within the ASG. Positions that remain open include Treasurer, Secretary, Club Coordinator, Events Coordinator, and Public Relations Coordinator. Participating in ASG is not only a great way to get involved in the CCC community but also comes with the added benefit of an academic voucher for tuition credits each term.

Meet the New Leaders:

Josie Kero – President
Josie is working toward her Associate of Arts Oregon Transfer (AAOT) degree at Clatsop and plans to transfer to Portland State University’s School of Social Work. Reflecting on her time at CCC, Josie states, “My time here has been monumental for overcoming barriers and paving a path forward. Such community support has made me confident in academics, fueling my desire to help my peers and future students get the same experience. I am eager to use my presidential role to provide support and connect with fellow students this year.”

Emily Bates – Vice President
Emily is pursuing a transfer degree in Data Science with plans to attend the University of Oregon. A non-traditional student in her second year at CCC, Emily shares, “CCC has been a transformative place for me, offering personal and academic growth. I’m excited to share my experiences and guide others on their journey. I can’t wait to spread my wealth of knowledge and give back to this incredible community.”

Open House Event:

To kick off the new leadership’s term, ASG will be hosting an Open House on Thursday, October 10th, from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. in their new office located in Columbia Hall, Room 117.
