Public Meeting Training by OGEC

Clatsop Community College is excited to host a live, interactive training session presented by the Oregon Government Ethics Commission (OGEC) on Tuesday, February 4, from 2:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. in Columbia Hall 219 at 1651 Lexington Ave., Astoria, OR 97103. This session is open to the public and is particularly valuable for members of governmental bodies, school boards, budget committees, and others involved in public meetings.

This 2.5-hour training will provide a comprehensive overview of Oregon’s Public Meetings Law as outlined in ORS Chapter 192 / OAR Chapter 199 Division 50. Participants will explore practical applications through scenarios based on real-life examples, offering insight into the complexities of public meeting requirements and ethical considerations. Attendees will also have the opportunity to engage in questions and discussions to deepen their understanding.

Whether you’re an experienced public servant or new to the process, this session will equip you with the knowledge to ensure compliance with Oregon’s laws while fostering transparency and accountability in your organization.
