WOMEN: NOW is the time to get started on the rest of your life and we can help!
The Astoria and Seaside Branches of AAUW(American Association of University Women) and Clatsop Community College are again offering women in our area the exciting opportunity to attend a FREE award-winning conference about returning to education. The 2019 WINGS Conference will be held on Saturday, March 9th, from 8:00am to 3:30pm in Columbia Hall, 1651 Lexington Avenue, Astoria.
The day-long conference is FREE to all women wanting to return to school to gain skills to enrich their lives. Women may return to earn their GED, to start or finish vocational certificates or college degrees, to develop new job skills, or train for a new career. College staff will provide information about admissions, scholarships, financial aid, support programs, career planning, non-traditional careers, conquering math anxiety, distance learning and more.
Sessions and workshops on CCC Degrees, Certificate Programs and Pathways, GED, Job Skills, Student Financial Aid, Scholarships, Career Planning and Non-traditional Careers, Conquering Math Anxiety, CCC Admissions and Support Services for Students and the Lives in Transition Program.
WINGS Latina began three years ago. In 2019 Gudelia Contreras will offer real-time Spanish translation with earphones for our Latina attendees.
Participants receive FREE breakfast, lunch as well as educational benefits. FREE professional day care is provided on-site for children under 12.
WINGS is in its 17th year.
Since its inception WINGS has helped over 800 local women return to school.
