Ales & Ideas Presents “Dally in the Dahlias: History, Disease and Prevention”

Join Clatsop Community College and Fort George Brewery for the next Ales & Ideas Lecture on Thursday, April 4th, 2024 at 7p.m. featuring CCC biology instructor Nichole Warwick.

Nichole Warwick has been playing in the dirt since she was 7 and now is on a quest to help people have access to scientifically accurate information and base their gardening practices to have healthy happy plants. Nichole will take you on a stroll through the virtual garden as you learn about the history and cultural significance of dahlias as they moved from central Mexico into popularity in European gardens. Then we’ll dig into bacteria and viral diseases that have been impacting the plants and learn about ways to minimize the spread of these issues to other plants. Grow your knowledge this spring about keeping your plants healthy.

Doors open at the Lovell Showroom at 6 p.m., with food, ales, and other beverages available; no purchase necessary. Minors are welcome at this FREE event.
