Ales & Ideas Presents “From Ancient Ruins to Modern Masters: An Artist’s Residency and European Odyssey”

Join Clatsop Community College and Fort George Brewery for the next Ales & Ideas Lecture on Thursday, November 7th, 2024, at 7p.m. featuring CCC Art Instructor Kristin Shauck. Kristin will be presenting on her time in France this past summer as a resident artist.

“I am very excited to share stories and insights from a transformative summer spent drawing and painting in the medieval village of Marnay Sur Seine, France while studying the emotionally charged sculptures of the late 19th century artist Camille Claudel.  Along the way, visits to Lake Geneva, Venice, and Paris deepened my connection to the masters of the past as well as the contemporary art world.” Kristin stated.

Kristin Shauck, founder of the annual International Competition Au Naturel: the Nude in the 21st Century, teaches Art at Clatsop Community College and serves as Director of the Royal Nebeker Gallery. 

Doors open at the Lovell Showroom at 6 p.m., with food, ales, and other beverages available, no purchase necessary. Minors are welcome at this FREE event.
