The 6th Annual Conference on Extraordinary Living for people ages 50+ will be held Saturday, September 7th, from 8:30 am – 1:30 pm at Clatsop Community College in Columbia Hall, 1651 Lexington Ave, Astoria. The event will kick off with free coffee and morning goodies (courtesy of Suzanne Elise) followed by a welcome and keynote address. This year’s keynote address, presented by Darrell Jabin, Oregon’s Traveling Historian, is titled, “Around Oregon: Trains.” In this informative and entertaining presentation, Darrell shares his research on Oregon railroads and the people who built them and how they changed and shaped the Northwest. Darrell has been producing videos and doing presentations since 2009. He has done over 200 presentations in more than 40 cities throughout the northwest.
The address will be followed by three breakout sessions, forty-five minutes each with four informative presentations from which to choose. New to the breakout session lineup this year, attend sessions on Mindset Coaching, Senior Exercise, Natural Healthcare, Painting, and Demystifying the Internet. Back by popular demand: Tai Chi, ENCORE Sampler, and Questions about Medicare.
Between sessions and throughout the day, participants can get a flu shot provided Walgreens, at Zero Copay* (bring an ID), have their blood pressure checked courtesy of Clatsop Care, browse the community booths, or walk the Patriot Hall track. The half-day event will end with a free and delicious lunch catered by Pacific Crab Company.
