Admissions & Enrollment

You must be an eligible student to receive financial aid which includes being officially admitted to Clatsop Community College and be working towards a certificate or degree.

You need to be admitted by Friday of the first week of the term you are requesting financial aid.  Please see Admissions Steps to begin the admission process, check your admission status, and/or get more information.

If you register for courses at Clatsop and do not have financial aid in place, you are responsible for payment.  Please see Tuition and Fees and Payment Information for details regarding costs and payment obligations.

Students who have received their award letter and are enrolled in credit classes will be paid at the level they are enrolled in at the time of the census date.  The census date is the last date students can change their enrollment status for financial aid.  The census date is a snapshot of the number of eligible credit hours registered for at 5:00 p.m. on the Friday of the first week of the term.

Enrollment Levels:

  • Full Time = 12+ credits
  • 3/4 Time = 9-11 credits
  • 1/2 Time = 6-8 credits
  • Less Than 1/2 Time = 1-5 credits
Your award letter will list each term’s enrollment level that you are funded for, and it is important to make sure that your enrollment is correct.

If it changes, submit a Student Revision Form as soon as possible before the term so as not to delay disbursement. Funding will not be increased to adjust for any shortfall in the financial aid award due to failure to register by the census date.

NOTE: Audited courses are not included in the census date and are not eligible for financial aid
