Dr. Sheila Roley Appointed to CCC Board of Education

Clatsop Community College is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Sheila Roley as the newest member of the Board of Education. Sheila will serve out the remainder of the vacated term representing Zone 2 Position 3 until 2025, at which point the seat will be open for election.

On Tuesday, February 20, 2024, the CCC Board of Education held a special board meeting for interviews of the applicants and appointment of the selected new board member. Six applicants were interviewed: Sheila Roley, Mike Brosius, Jim Alegria, Laura Evans, Sheryl Bos, and Deborah Howe. After discussion of the applicants, Ashley Flukinger motioned to add Sheila Roley to the board. Lloyd Mueller seconded. Jody Stahancyk, Mitra Vazeen, and Ed Johnson voted in favor. Tim Lyman was opposed. Sheila was contacted after the meeting and accepted the appointment.

With a background deeply rooted in education and community service, Sheila brings a wealth of experience and a passion for fostering educational excellence. Her appointment is a testament to the commitment of Clatsop Community College to provide a high-quality education and support system for its students. Sheila’s involvement in various community initiatives have showcased her dedication to making a positive impact. As a Board Member, she will contribute her expertise to guide the college in achieving its mission and goals.

The next regular board meeting will be held on Thursday, March 14th at the Lexington Campus in Astoria at 5:30 p.m. and available via Zoom.
